The Hawaiian Oboe Legacy Project commissioned this world premiere by composer Jon Magnussen to spotlight the debut of the world’s only handcrafted oboe made of Hawaiian Kauila wood. Created as a gift to Hawaii, envisioned and performed by J. Scott Janusch with the Tresemble, the program honors Hawaiian culture and its environment, past, present, and future.
